The operation of
division of two numbers is derived from the operation of multiplication. Given
any two real numbers a and b.
a : b = c
Where c is the result of division of a by b. In the above formula, a is called the
dividend, b is the divisor, and c is the quotient of a and b. One can use multiplication to test whether the
result of the division is true, because the quotient of a and b is a
number c by which the
number b is multiplied
to produce a.
