How do you spot the best value in shop?
To compare the cost, find the cost of 1
kitchen roll (the unit cost) for each
pack.
2 rolls for 1.20 gives 60 p per roll
3 rolls for 1.71 gives 57 p per roll
The pack of 3 rolls is the best value (obviously you would only buy the pack of 3 kitchen rolls if you do not mind having that many rolls or have enough money to buy that pack at that particular moment).
500 g costs 160 p, so 1 g costs
So the 750 g box is the best value.
OR
500 g costs 160 p so
250 g costs 80 p
At this price,
3 × 250 g = 759 g cost
3 × 80 p = £2.40
This is more expensive that the 750 g box.
