EXAMPLE:

–6 + –2

= –6 –2

= –8

EXAMPLE:

–4 + –2

= –4 –2

= –6

EXAMPLE:

The temperature is –2⁰C. It rises by 6⁰C. What is the new temperature?

 Start at –2. Go up 6. Answer is 4. So new temperature is 4⁰C.
